Seattle has the best sandwiches in the nation?

We all know Seattle has some fine food, but according to the latest edition of Esquire Magazine, we have another reason to brag. In the article The Best Sandwiches in America Esquire names 3 Seattle restaurants as having the finest meals on sliced bread: SalumiPaseo and the Steelhead Diner. Evening Magazine just did the story, and you can watch the video here.

This Month's Recommendation is the Pink Door

Along The Quaint Post Alley Of Seattle's Pike Place Market Awaits: A seductive netherworld fronted by mysterious, milky rose portal better known as The Pink Door. Enter through it, and the tides of realities wash away into the sea of the sublime. Welcome! The Pink Door tempts with homespun Italian-American food, conversation that flows as liberally as a Barolo, provocative - always free- live entertainment, and a warm, lively respite from the ordinary world. From the trapeze temptress swinging over guests in the dining room to the couples entwined on the patio taking in the Elliot Bay view, what's not to love? Entrees run between $15 and $25 dollars each.

This Month's Desert Recommendation is Simply Deserts

Tucked into a little corner at the main intersection in Fremont, this is a haven for sweet tooths. Most people take desserts to go (they're available sized for single servings or group-feeding frenzies), but there are some small tables perfect for a quick sugar fix and a frothy latte warmed up by the speedy, competent staff. Forget the phrase "high-protein diet" and cuddle up to a fat- and carb-laden treat like a turtle brownie with a glass of milk, fresh fruit pie a la mode or black-bottom cupcake. Chocoholics should choose the towering slice of sweet chocolate-truffle cake, while fruit fans will adore the moist lemon-blueberry version. Each desert is under ten dollars, a perfect cap to a night out.
